I think I have finished my packing lists for both Jordan and Honduras today (although I'm sure there will be something I end up forgetting, I just hope it's not something really necessary). I am getting very anxious to leave. I go back to GR the day after tomorrow and then I am off to the Middle East three days after that!
Right now I am just gathering everything I need for the trips, doing last minute laundry, and relaxing because I know that for the next four months I will not be getting as much sleep as I am used to. Internet in Jordan is sparse so I don't know how much I will be able to update while I am there, but I hope to keep a journal and then upload it onto the blog once I get better Internet.
That's all for now. I can't wait to travel.

How to Avoid Unsatisfying Answers
While walking to Cherry Deli to get some lunch (excellent) today I heard a loud, startling, low-pitched wail. After a few seconds of hearing it I realized that it was a siren, but for those first few moments I was convinced that it was the call to prayer. I cannot wait until I get to hear that beautifully eerie sound daily. The call to prayer is surprisingly something that is very easy to get used to, and when I go a long time without hearing it I really begin to miss it. Life is more beautiful with background music.
I guess I (and my best friend Hope) have decided to start this blog because I will be out of the states for a good part of 2010 and I want to have a way to tell the people I am not with what I am doing. I believe that a blog is a wonderful way to share experiences with loved ones. It is too easy to get home from a big trip and when someone asks what you did say, "I don't know."
This blog is a way for me to avoid the "I don't know" answer. Of course I know what I did on a trip. The problem is that I cannot explain my experience in a few short sentences. My goal for this blog is to share life with the people I love that are not able to come with me on my adventures. So stay tuned and get a taste of what I am actually doing with my life when I am gallivanting all over the world. Then when I get back from my travles you can ask me to tell you more about what you already know I did. That way I don't have to lie and tell you that I don't know what I did, and you can hear more of my travel stories than anyone else.
Peace,
Zenobia
